Apple fell to fourth place in the mobile vendor sales list in the second quarter of 2019, after a sharp decline in iPhone sales.
According to the IHS list, Apple shipped 35.3 million iPhones in 3 months, gaining 11 percent of the market. China’s Oppo seems to have pushed the company down, with 36.2 million phones shipped. Samsung ranks first with 75.1 million handsets and Huawei shipped 58.7 million handsets worldwide despite US scandals. (Another issue is that despite fewer handsets being sold, Apple’s profits are by far the highest among mobile manufacturers.)
Apple is not worried that phones now account for only half of their revenue, as they believe other accessories, such as watches, are performing very well.
