There is no cause for concern over British political leader Boris Johnson’s political future, US President Donald Trump said Wednesday.
The president told reporters in the White House that Boris Johnson “knows how to win.”
“Boris is a friend of mine who is fighting hard to win,” he said. Then, referring to the debate between the British Prime Minister and Parliament, he added that, as he said, there was no need to worry about the Prime Minister.
The US President said just before the House of Commons on Wednesday passed a bill banning Brexit disorder, and the British Prime Minister subsequently called for an early election.
Donald Trump has repeatedly and publicly expressed his friendship and appreciation for the British politician. “Boris is exactly what the United Kingdom needs,” he wrote on Twitter in August, when Johnson announced that he would temporarily suspend parliamentary activity.
US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper will meet in London on Thursday, and he is expected to have talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is also in London.
