Mel Gibson is playing Santa in a black comedy that will start shooting next year in Canada – The Hollywood Reporter said.

The action comedy Fatman is about a spoiled kid who hires an assassin to kill the Lapland celebrity. The film is directed by Ian and Eshom Nelms and the brothers also wrote the script. Producers include Brandon James from Rough House and Nadine de Barros from Fortitude and Lisa Wolofsky from Skywolf.
“Mel is the perfect choice for Kris Kringle’s role, we’ll see it as never before, I’m looking forward to this black Christmas comedy,” de Barros said.
The Fatman’s Santa Claus is not the usual jovial figure, Gibson forms a Santa, whose business is in decline, so he has to fight hard. The 12-year-old Billy, with whom no one cares, receives an assassin because he is angry that he finds only charcoal in his socks as a gift at Christmas.
This year, Mel Gibson was seen by Professor and the Madman in the mid-19th century biography film, where he was the creator of the first English dictionary of Oxford. At the moment, the name of the Boss Level thriller will be presented in several new productions, in August, and the preparations for War Pigs and Waldo and Black Flies are under preparation.
