On Friday, Real Madrid released their official jerseys for the 2019-20 season when it was revealed that the gold-ball, Croatian World Championship silver medalist Luka Modrić would not give in and did not hand over his jersey number 10 to Eden Hazard, a certified summer player, who will play Cristiano Ronaldo’s former No. 7 jersey for the Madrid team.
Hazard, who played Real’s 50 in his preseason, plays and played in jersey 10 for his Belgian national team and former club Chelsea, but will be forced to switch to Real Madrid. The jersey was last worn by Mariano Díaz at Real, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Raúl, Luis Enrique, Emilio Butragueño and Raymond Kopa among others, but György Nemes also played at Real.
When the jerseys were announced, long-gone Gareth Bale kept his jersey number 11, while James Rodríguez, who returned from Bayern Munich on a two-year loan, retained his jersey number 16, which means he would probably stay in Madri.
