Putin: Moscow is not closing the trial with Kiev

Russia is not blocking the trial with Ukraine, said Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday at a plenary session of the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg.

The Russian President denied that Moscow would have plans to unite Russia and Belarus by 2024, for which his mandate would expire.
“I am deeply convinced that we (Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians) are a people, but that we have been living in different countries, different states have come into existence,” Putin said.
“But there is no foundation for state unification today, we have no plans, no goals,” he added.
At the same time, he noted that several provisions of the Russian-Ukrainian agreement on the State Union had not yet been implemented.
On the forum, which was also attended by the Chinese President Xin Chin-ping, Putin was clearly holding the Beijing party in the US-China trade dispute. He warned that aggressive American tactics against the Far Eastern Communist might lead to commercial wars and possibly to real wars.
The Russian President accused Washington of “unscrupulous economic selfishness” because, according to him, he was attempting, among other things, to displace the Chinese Huawei telecommunications giant from the world market and prevent the construction of the North Stream 2 gas pipeline. He called the American action against Huawei the technological war of the digital era.
“States that previously supported free trade and fair and open competition began to speak in the languages ​​of commercial wars and sanctions, economic upheavals, coercion and intimidation, with rivals being removed by so-called non-market tools,” Putin said.
He expressed his opinion that the “liberal” or “Euro-Atlantic” model of post-Cold Economic Development, which has been in crisis since 2008.
As he said, there is a danger that the world will begin an era in which the United States is trying to replace its general international rules with its own laws. He stressed the importance of the UN and international organizations. According to his words, the dollar has become an instrument of pressure on the US, undermining confidence in this currency.
Putin also suggested that basic products, medicines, medical, utilities. and the use of environmentally friendly energy equipment from the possibility of sanction restrictions “in the context of the demilitarization of key sectors of the global economy and trade”.
Xi called on the powers to protect the multilateral world trading system. As he said, neither China nor the United States were interested in breaking. The Chinese leader, as well as Putin, also called US President Donald Trump a friend.
By the way, Xi, who is on a three-day state visit to Russia on Wednesday in Moscow, said protectionism and hegemonism have been “lifted” in the world, so Russia and China, as permanent members of the UN Security Council, must make efforts to maintain the international security system. Putin insisted that Moscow and Beijing would be unacceptable to abolish disarmament and arms control agreements.
